Rethinking Ownership, Empowering Community
The average power drill is used for less than 15 minutes across its entire lifespan. We believe high-utility items shouldn't sit idle in solitary garages or end up in landfills.
Reduce Waste & Landfill
Every shared carpet extractor, lawnmower, or tent represents dozens of manufactured products not bought, boxed, shipped, or prematurely discarded.
Economic Equity
No one should go into debt or forego a home repair, car diagnosis, or kid's birthday dream just because equipment costs $250 for a single weekend.
Community Resilience
We cultivate a culture of trust and cooperation. By pooling together high-quality resources, neighbors support neighbors in times of need and creativity.
Simple, Autonomous & Secure
Our smart-shed operates smoothly around the clock without demanding scheduling headaches.

Free to Borrow. Sustained by Generosity.
We deliberately do not charge checkout fees so financial constraints never prevent a neighbor from accessing tools, care items, or equipment. If you are able, your tax-deductible donation funds shed maintenance, replacement parts, and expanding our inventory.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to borrow items?
It is completely free! We operate under a gift and circular economy model. There are no mandatory rental fees or hidden memberships. Those who have the means can provide optional donations to cover maintenance and consumable parts.
Where is the shed located and when can I pick up?
The Something Shared Community Shed is centrally positioned in our neighborhood commons. Because it is equipped with Evan's automated smart-lock infrastructure, you can access your bay 24 hours a day, 7 days a week once your reservation window opens.
How do I unlock Tier 2 items?
When you join, you begin in Tier 1 with single-item checkouts on our core tools and supplies. Once you have borrowed and returned items on time 3 times in good, clean condition, our system automatically upgrades your profile to Tier 2 (up to 3 simultaneous checkouts and access to all items).
What if an item gets damaged or wears out during normal use?
Normal wear and tear happens (drill bits dull, solder sponges wear). Simply report it during return through the digital portal so our maintenance volunteers can service or replace the component before the next neighbor borrows it.
